Abstract

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neuroimmune disease that affects the central nervous system and spinal cord, caused by the immune system attacking the myelin sheath surrounding neurons. This damage impacts both white and gray matter, cortical regions, and neural axons, leading to cognitive impairment in various mental functions, including information processing speed, executive functions, and working memory. This study focuses on assessing working memory deficits in MS patients through a comprehensive review of recent scientific literature from a neuropsychological-clinical perspective. The goal is to shed light on this neuroimmune disease, which significantly impairs quality of life for many worldwide
