Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of school violence within the
Moroccan context, framing it as a social indicator that reflects a profound
crisis of values affecting both the educational institution and society as a
whole, particularly in light of rapid social and digital transformations. The
research approaches the issue from psychological, educational, and cultural perspectives, and explores its root causes and various forms especially digital violence (or cyberbullying), which increasingly threatens school life and the social fabric within educational settings in Morocco.
The study is guided by a central research question: To what extent can school violence be considered a reflection of a values crisis in Moroccan schools?
And what role do curricula and school life play in either mitigating or
reinforcing this phenomenon? From this main question, a set of sub-questions emerges, which the study seeks to explore.
The research adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology, based on the
analysis of field data and the examination of the value-based and educational structure of schools. It also incorporates a forward-looking dimension through the proposal of practical recommendations aimed at reducing violence in school environments.
The study concludes that school violence is not an isolated phenomenon, but rather a manifestation of a broader societal crisis of values and a declining role of the school as a nurturing educational institution, in a context marked by accelerated societal change and the growing dominance of digital media.
