Abstract

The study aimed to assess the extent to which school principals adhere to the ethical codes of the teaching profession from the perspective of trainee female students in secondary schools in the city of N’Djamena. The researchers employed the descriptive–analytical method to achieve the study’s objectives, relying on a questionnaire consisting of 32 items. The study was conducted on a sample of 113 students, representing 47% of the local population. The findings indicated that school principals’ adherence to the ethical codes of the teaching profession across the four study domains was high. The results also showed no statistically significant differences at the (α = 0.05) level in principals’ adherence to professional ethics attributable to the variable of professional experience in two domains: ethics toward colleagues at work and ethics toward parents in the local community. The differences, when present, favored those with more than ten years of experience. Additionally, the results revealed no statistically significant differences at the (α = 0.05) level in adherence to the ethical codes of the teaching profession based on the academic qualification variable across all domains
